It’s with great sadness we announce the untimely death of Amjad Sabri, the last of the legendary Sabri Qawwali Family. He was gunned down today in Karachi by unknown militants.
Sabri was one of the world’s finest qawwals, known for his Sufiana and Arfana genre of music. He inherited excellent voice for Qawwali from his Qawwali gharana, and mesmerized audiences with his rendition of hundreds year old kalam and poetry.
